COHEHRE Webinar – Thu 24.09.20, 16:30 CET

Title
Ergonomically-friendly online lectures for both lecturer and students

Description

At the start of the Corona crisis, many lecturers and students had to switch from real-life to online lectures, all of a sudden. As a result, the time spend on the computer and sedentary behaviour has increased. In this webinar we will, after going through some basics, offer practical tips and tricks on how to include principles of ergonomics in online lectures. This in order to reduce sedentary behaviour on the one hand, and encourage an ergonomic position while working on the computer on the other, for both lecturer and students.

ENOTHE Newsletter 17 – Summer 2020

2nd COTEC-ENOTHE Joint Congress, Prague, Czech Republic, Postponed to September 15-18 , 2021

Dear ENOTHE members,

Dear colleagues,

After thorough review and discussion between the Guarant, the Organizing Committee, the Scientific Committee, the COTEC Executive Committee and ENOTHE Board we have decided to postpone the 2nd COTEC-ENOTHE Joint Congress in Prague which was originally planned for September 2020.

Due to the current developments in the COVID-19 crisis we face too many challenges and risks to secure a good outcome of the planned conference. There is a huge variety in countries’ policies and measures to fight COVID-19 and it is for sure that we need more time after the summer before life will be somewhat alike it was. If not our way of way life has changed permanently.

We understand that this is unfortunate and it was a very difficult decision to make considering all the preparation work that has already been done, but it is a decision we need to make now.

Authors will shortly be informed via Exordo and registered participants by Guarant. We will provide more information about the next steps and keep you  updated on the consequences of postponing the COTEC-ENOTHE Congress.

Additionally, we would like to inform you that the ENOTHE board will have a next board meeting online April 23 and 24, in which we will of course discuss the above further and we will inform you on following steps regarding the planned General Assembly for this year.

On behalf of both boards, the Organizing  and  Scientific Committees we wish you all the best for now.

Stay safe and healthy!

Warm regards,

On behalf of the Scientific and Organising Committees,

Soemitro Poerbodipoero (ENOTHE President) & Anu Söderström (COTEC President)

Newsletter 16 – Spring 2020

COVID-19 and Teach

Dear valued ENOTHE friends (teachers & students),

The spreading of COVID- 19 is affecting our lives and we all may experience new challenges either in our personal, professional and community levels. As Occupational Therapists, we focus on helping others to overcome obstacles that affect the performance of our daily occupations. For this reason, as a board, we would like to encourage you to share practices in teaching Occupational Therapy remotely from home. We are keen to see and share ideas on how we continue to teach and learn together with students. For this purpose, a trigger video was created from our board member Dr. Panagiotis Siaperas and an example video was created by an ENOTHE member institution, the Metropolitan College in Greece.

Please go ahead and share with us either in Social Media (Facebook and Twitter or by email info@enothe.eu ) your practices as academics or students and how you continue to be engaged in distance learning (i.e. creative solutions to teaching, learning and quality assurance)and how you have found new meanings or occupations while being at home. For example, when adapting practice-based classes, links to open resources, and skills training. Another example can be the ways how you encourage socially responsive learning treating challenges provoked by Covid-19 in your lessons (community approaches, meaningful occupation vs anxiety, etc.). It could be short mp4 videos (up to 60 seconds and 6MB), photos, leaflets, messages and short testimonials of OT teachers and students. Let’s share how we adapt in OT education and we overcome difficulties with inspiring ideas.

With all our best wishes from ENOTHE board & office. Take care and take care of each other.

On behalf of the whole ENOTHE board,

Soemitro Poerbodipoero

President ENOTHE
