The 27th ENOTHE Annual Meeting will take place between 26-28 October 2023, hosted by the Department of Occupational Therapy of Facultad Padre Ossó (centro adscrito a la Universidad de Oviedo), Oviedo – Spain.

Hanneke van Bruggen Lecture

The Hanneke van Bruggen Lecture was created at the 16th Annual ENOTHE 2010 Meeting at Stockholm, Sweden, in honour of Hanneke Van Bruggen then, the outgoing Director of ENOTHE. In creating the Hanneke van Bruggen Lecture, the ENOTHE board wished to recognise and honour Hanneke Van Bruggen for her unending dedication and outstanding work in promoting occupational therapy in Europe and internationally.

The ENOTHE Board is pleased to inform that the external panel, that reviewed all nominations, has awarded the 2023 Hanneke van Bruggen Lecture to Salvador Simó.

Abstracts and Review

We are happy to say that ENOTHE Annual Meetings audience is composed of occupational therapy researchers, teachers, students, clinicians and other occupational therapy interested persons.

The abstract submission and abstract related communications for the 25th ENOTHE Annual Meeting is done through an online platform, called ExOrdo. The information submitted, on this submission platform, will be the primordial reference for the annual meeting content related documents and communication. It is the author’s responsibility to submit correct information.

All submissions must be related to the theme and topics of the conference: European Year of Skills 2023 – Lifelong Learning, Empowering students and teachers and Digital transitions/innovations in teaching; with a clear focus on education in Occupational Therapy (OT) and Occupational Science (OS). You will be asked to choose one topic to submit under.

This Annual meeting will have a Book of Abstracts with ISBN. 

All presentations, regardless of the format, should be done in the ENOTHE official language – English.

Presentation Formats available:
Oral Presentation: 15 minutes max., possibly supported by slides (maximum of 8 slides) with introduction, methodology, results and conclusion. Related questions and discussion will take place in the following Q&A session, which accommodates equal time for all oral presentations.

Workshop: 90min session of specific subject hands-on-approach 

Master Class: 90min session of expert knowledge/skill sharing 

Meet-Up: 90min session. Projects are invited to share their experiences  with other (novice) colleagues to increase the use of their products or outcomes and to facilitate those who want to implement good practices in their field of OT Education.

Poster: A poster provides the opportunity to present findings or lessons supported by figure and graphics with an introduction, methodology, results and discuss points. The text should be large enough to be read from 1,5m distance. Poster format should be: size ISO A0, vertical orientation.

Would you like to be an abstract reviewer for this Annual Meeting?

Abstract  review is done through ExOrdo; number of abstracts per reviewer vary, but we look forward to do not have more than 15 abstracts assigned to each reviewer; this is a double-blind review; nepotism is prevented ; and reviewers cannot decline assigned reviews.

Best Poster Voting

With this we want to bring attention to the poster presentations which we be located around the social area of the Annual Meeting.

Posters will have a daily exposure, meaning that each day will be different posters exposed.

You can vote for thee best poster by scanning the QR code located at the poster boards, which will lead you to a form with all the posters presented and there you select your choice of Best Poster.

Results will be communicated at the closing ceremony. Note that Best Poster will receive a token of appreciation based on the ENOTHE merchandising.

 


Registration

The fees are each subdivided based on the World Bank Economic Status of the country.

Registration Fees for all delegates (students, teachers, practitioners and researchers) includes:

  • 3-day annual meeting event (26-28 October 2023) with access to all presentation formats, Keynote presentations and HvB Lecture
  • lunches and coffee breaks
  • social events

Terms and Conditions of Registration:

  • If you register for the Annual Meeting you agree to have your photo/video taken by conference organisers for publicity material.
  • You are eligible for a full refund if you cancel your registration until May 31st.
  • You are eligible for a 50% refund if you cancel your registration between June 1st and August 31st.
  • You are not eligible for a refund if you cancel registration on September 1st or afterwards.
  • All onsite registrations are not eligible for refund.

IDBadge

Your IDBadge will be your ticket to this Annual Meeting. 

You will be able to collect your IDBadge at the Palacio de Congresos (Annual Meeting location) on wednesday October 25th between 4-6pm and on the first day of the Annual Meeting October 26th between 8-9am (all local times – CET).
 
On the front of your IDBadge will be your name, institution (in case you mentioned it in the registration form) and country; on the back of the IDBadge it will be the QR code for the final programme. 
 
Moreover you if you mentioned, in your registration form:
  • any specific diet/allergy, a sticker will be placed on your IDBadge accordingly;
  • that you will be attending the Social Dinner, another sticker will be placed on your IDBAdge.
 
We kindly ask you to return the lanyard that accompanies your IDBadge at the end of the Annual Meeting, by depositing it at a designated box placed on the registration desk. 

 


Social Events

The Annual Meeting has the following social events: 

Welcome drink- 26th October and Social dinner-27th October. 

The location of the events is the same as of the annual meeting: Palacio de Congresos de Oviedo.

All these events are included in your registration fee and are non-alcoholic events.

The Social dinner will be followed by a DJ led “party” in which a drinks (including alcoholic) bar will be available – the consumption at this bar is not included in the registration fee, meaning it is paid by the own consumer. 

 


Marketplaces

Marketplaces are designated sessions within the framework of the ENOTHE annual meeting aimed at promoting collaboration within and between occupational therapy education, research and organisations. Sessions will be timed to coincide with breaks in the programme so that delegates can visit and engage with presenters on a drop-in basis.

Market Places may consider different formats of interaction. For example:

• Wall display or poster only
• Wall display and table with information/fliers etc…
• Wall display and discussion group
• Discussion group only (with laptop/material on the table)
• Discussion group with whiteboard/flip-over for brainstorming
• Other creative forms

Market Places must provide their own display equipment (laptops, beamers, projectors etc…).

Free Market Places are available for ENOTHE members that have registered for the AM.

About Oviedo:

Oviedo city core can be fully enjoyed just by walking, noting that it is a bit of hilly location tough. Having this said, you might want to take this into consideration when booking your accommodation in relation to the Annual Meeting location – Palacio de Congresos, knowing also that all Annual Meeting social events will take place at this location. 

 

How to get to Oviedo?

There are several options:
fly to Madrid, then fly to Asturias airport, then take bus to Oviedo 
fly to Madrid, then take the train or bus to Oviedo 
fly to Bilbao, then take the bus or train to Oviedo 
fly to Oporto, then take the bus to Oviedo 

Bus in Spain, ALSA is the suggested company as there are regular lines

Train in Spain, RENFE is the suggested company as there are regular lines

RENFE has provided a 5% discount for AVE (high-speed long distance train) trips to and from Oviedo, between the days 24-30 October 2023. To get more information on how to use this, contact us at info@enothe.eu

Accommodation in Oviedo:

There are several hotels in Oviedo, most of them located around the city center. The Annual Meeting location is rather close to the city center (10/15 min walking distance). There are also hotel options closest to the Annual meeting location.

Note that while booking your accommodation the breakfast and VAT might be charged separately from room.

There is also an option to stay at a private residence within the Facultad Padre Ossó campus, called Seminario Metropolitano de Oviedo (used as student residence also), which has very competitive prices, free parking, nonetheless a bit distant from the Annual Meeting location (15/20min walking). You request your attendance/presentation certificate until the end of the month of November. Only digital certificates are available.

Social Responsibility
